Spring cleaning your home, office and wardrobe can be kind of daunting but it can be a necessary life changing task as well.
My weekend activity will consist of decluttering and spring cleaning in preparation for not only the spring season but also the revamping of my wardrobe. Since relocating to the West coast I have been making do with my staple clothing items which have been amazing and I will probably be keeping majority of my staple pieces because they can be used in rotation of my newer staple items. I will mostly be purchasing my current essential pieces that are no longer wearable because they have started to fall apart due to wear and tear. I finally feel at home in our new living environment and I feel it is time to get more organized to better pursue my goals. For example I am reorganizing my closet so that when I need to go to work or have an event to attend I have quick and cute go to outfits available. As a blogger and entertainment journalist I sometimes get invited to events at the last-minute and instead of having to feel overwhelmed with putting together an impromptu outfit or having to turn down an opportunity, I can always be ready so I never have to get ready. Also since I currently work a full-time job along with my entrepreneurial endeavors and my husband works for himself which is very time-consuming I need to have organization for our week to run smoothly, i.e. meal preps, a clean/organized environment and weekly to do’s for both of us. This will help with time management so that our daily chores do not consume a lot of time and they will help to maintain a comfortable creative lifestyle.
Three books that are currently helping me to organize and schedule my life as much as possible to better suit a successful entrepreneurial and creative lifestyle are (pictured below)
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing,
The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business, and Smart Couples Finish Rich: 9 Steps to Creating a Rich Future for You and Your Partner.
These books have helped me to better focus on not only what I need to change but also how to start implementing the new patterns and ways of living into my daily routine. I’m looking forward to taking the first step of tidying this weekend by disregarding all the unnecessary clutter in our home, office and wardrobe. I will try to keep you my followers/’sugars’ updated with short vlogs when I have time, I’m hoping this new lifestyle will grant me the designated scheduled time that I need to devote to furthering my blog and YouTube community.
Are you ready to spring forward Sugars?! Comment below if you will be doing any spring cleaning or changing up your wardrobe, I would love to know if you have any tips or tricks I can implement 🙂
