In honor of International Women’s Day I wanted to share some women’s networking events that I have attended recently. Along with some pointers on how as a grown woman you can network and meet like minded women friends.
During the month of February I had the honor to attend two women’s networking events, the first was a website launching and women’s empowerment cocktail/ networking event thrown by Nikia Phoenix. The second event was a brunch hosted by Victoria Styles, one of the women that I met at the first event. Be sure to check out their websites below.

If you’re wondering well how do I find out about events like these? Some great ways to find out about upcoming events in your city is by looking out for flyers at hair salons, gyms, cafes, or similar venues; checking out social media sites (instagram, facebook, twitter, etc.), and talking to women at work, on campus, etc. And once you are aware of these events you have to be welling to take the next major step which is to attend these events, even if you have to go by yourself. I realize this can be a daunting task, going to social events where you know absolutely no one but it can also be quite liberating. Usually at these type of events you can be sure that everyone who attends is open minded, nice and eager to meet and get to know you. That is the entire reason for having these events to connect with like minded women, so you don’t have to have your defensive guard up when attending. Below are a few pics and a short video of me discussing my experience at these events and some footage of the actual events. I hope you like and please share any links to any events you may be attending or hosting or have attended in the past.
